Not so long agi there was a stranger that came from Ilocos region, who ware a merchant of Abel of which is commonly known as garments here in barrio setio., here in barrio setio there was a Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio that those strangers believe to stayed and rented in there place, wherein they sold their garments in this barrio. After they sold all their merchandize, they also help people from this barrio to harvest Palay or Rice because when they are trading here it was the harvesting season which was November and December.
These two strangers or trader also helped Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio, right after the harvesting of their palay Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio gave thier hare of helping them in their harvest. When the two stranger went back home in Ilocos region they have brought with them palays and rice. But not long after a week the two strangers came back here in barrio setio. And they brought with them plenty of garments. The next morning Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio invited the two strangers to catch fish at the river located at the northern most part of Camiling river, at northwest of Camiling town. This was 3 kilometers away from barrio setio. Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio went fishing together with the two strangers from Ilocos, with their fish net and traditional fish baskets when they arrived at the site of the river, they were happy because they saw that there were plenty of fish in the river.
Because their fish basket were all full and there were no more space, when they arrived at Mang Ambo and Gorio’s house, they cut the fish and dried it as PINDANG or DAING right after they have cleaned all the fish, all the fish were dried and put it on a carton where their merchandise where stocked. The cartons full of dried fish that it can hardly close.
Before the two merchant decided to leave, one of them said to Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio that they would like to meet Teniente del barrio or the Brgy. Captain Vicente Ordinario which was then the leader of barrio setio.
They then went to the house of the teniente del barrio. As barangay leader, he was very happy and warmly welcomed the sellers. After they shook hands they introduced their selves to each other.
The two Abel sellers were thankful for the hospitality of Mang Ambo and Mang Gorio that can never be paid by anything.
The bidded farewell to the teniente del barrio and they have told him that it was a unforgettable experience.
Finally, because of the plenty fish that they have catch and dried , they asked to change the name of barrio setio to Barangay Bilad.
